I recently stumbled onto an organization called “I Am That Girl”, and I am blown away by how amazing it is. That’s why my suggestion for follow friday is the blog on the organization’s page. This non-profit has a simple goal to change girl’s and women’s lives for the better by spreading a message of self-love. The group’s founder, Alexis Jones, wrote a book about the topic. It, too, is amazing. As women, we are constantly putting ourselves down. We feel like we can’t do anything right. We’re too girly or we’re too boyish, we’re too fake or we don’t care enough, we’re too nerdy, or we’re too ditzy. The whole point of this organization is to change how we think about ourselves. Society is always going to look at us that way and they’re going to put us down no matter what we do. But, as soon as we start seeing ourselves as competent, strong people, and as soon as we stop caring what the world wants from us and start following our own passions, great things will happen for us. It’s all so inspirational, so do yourself a favor and check it out! If you’re interested in the book, you will only find it at Claire’s until March when it is released everywhere.
