ICYMI: Celebrating University Women

On Friday, Sept. 24 the Women’s Center, Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, and the Office for Equity and Diversity celebrated outstanding University women scholars and changemakers! The event honored the recipients of Women’s Center-affiliated scholarships, grants, and awards, and included a short program and dessert reception. Dr. Katrice Albert, Vice President for the Office for Equity and Diversity, gave a talk titled “Engaged and Empowered: How Ordinary Women Lead in Extraordinary Ways”


Mullen-Spector-Traux Women’s Leadership Award: Linda Kim, Academic Adviser, College of Design

Sara Evans Faculty Women Scholar/Leader Award: Christy L. Haynes, Ph. D., Chemistry; Hari Osofsky, Ph. D., Law School

Charlotte Striebel Equity Award: Patricia Frazier, Ph. D., Psychology; Colleen Manchester, Ph. D., Carlson School of Management

Tapestry Award: Salma Hussein, Coordinator of Community-Based Programs, Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence, Office for Equity and Diversity

Sharon L. Doherty Student Leadership Award: Johanna Heegemen, Bachelor of Arts Candidate, College of Liberal Arts; Soua Thao, Bachelor of Science Candidate, College of Education and Human Development

Carol E. Macpherson Memorial Scholarship Recipients: Parisa Atighi Moghadam, Aracely Duerkop, Amber Ferguson, Bakhridzhon Ibragimova, Volha Leuchanka, Jessica Sleck, Lidia Swanson, Melanie Trnka
